Individual
Therapy

45-minute, one-on-one talk therapy sessions. These sessions are generally unstructured and allow us to focus on whatever you want to work on.

Individual therapy is well suited for anyone seeking deeper exploration of their presenting issues, a place to unburden themselves, and the development of evidence-based coping tools. Those experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression, body image concerns, grief, relationship issues, high stress, a life transition, and/or unhealthy self-esteem can greatly benefit from a psychotherapeutic space.

Therapy usually begins with getting to know one another, gathering history, assessing needs, and determining therapeutic goals. We may start treatment with developing tools for coping with present distress prior to transitioning to more insight-based work. This makes the type of therapy I offer integrative and holistic, recognizing the multifaceted nature of concerns.

No two treatment plans look the same. I will carefully listen to you and your needs, and together, we will determine the best course of (evidence-based) action to meet your goals.

Common theoretical frameworks I pull from include cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems therapy (aka “parts work”), and somatic therapies.

I am also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) which is the leading treatment modality for trauma. EMDR therapy works by directly affecting the brain and “unfreezing” the traumatic memories, allowing you to resolve them. Over time, you're able to work through the disturbing memories and associated feelings until you are able to think about the event without reliving it.
